Up for bid is this 1962 Chrysler Newport 4 Door Sedan. It features a/c, power steering and brakes, AM radio and clock. I have owned this car for 12 years. It was has been undergoing a constant restoration and maintenance program for the whole twelve year span. I have a bulging file of receipts that go with the car. Here is the current state the car is in:

Mechanical: The engine (361 2bbl) was rebuilt about 5000 miles ago to stock specs. The push button transmission was gone through at the same time. Dual exhaust was added. Many new components, have been added along the way, regulator, alternator, etc. New shocks. The leaf springs were re-arched. The brakes were totally gone through and the rears were updated. An 8 3/4 sure grip (3:23 axle ratio) from a Challenger bolted right up with NO modifications. The entire fuel system was cleaned out. The clock was quartz converted and all electoluminesence was restored on the entire dash. The a/c needs to be charged. The radial white wall tires also have about 5000 miles on them.

Body: An original enamel Turquoise paint job on a near rust free body was done by Nostalgia Lane, Inc. in Machesney Park, IL. Chrome inside and out was redone. The car was undercoated. New NOS tail light lenses were installed.

Interior: Seat foam was redone and original turquoise plaid seat covers and door panels were done. New carpet, headliner and sunvisors. The armrests have a few splits and the dash has a couple of small splits. side and rear glass is very nice. Windshield has two wiper scratches in each corner and one chip on the driver’s side. No cracks.

Trunk: New carpet and cardboard side panels. Jack has been detailed. Looks absolutely pristine.

This car won two awards when driven to Las Vegas for Mopars at the Strip and Los Angeles for the Spring Fling in 2004. Awards from local and regional shows are too numerous to list.
